Meet Our Coach!
Jacki Smith is heading into her fifteenth season as head coach at Dartmouth College. During her time at Dartmouth, the team has qualified for eleven Intercollegiate National Championships and won the Intercollegiate National Title in 2012.
In addition to coaching the college team, she is the director of the Skating Club at Dartmouth, creating a relationship between the two programs. The college skaters have the opportunity to participate in the SCAD shows and the SCAD skaters have the chance to work with the Dartmouth team.
She received her training in Lake Placid, New York. Jacki is a US Figure Skating Quadruple gold medalist in moves in the field, freestyle, figures, and dance. She is certified by the Professional Skater’s Association in moves and freestyle. Jacki is also certified in sports science, CER-Category A, well PSA hockey level 1 and power skating She has coached students through their USFS Gold medal in moves in the field as well as freestyle and International Dances.
Jacki and her husband Eric have a son, Logan.
Coaching collegiate skating at Dartmouth has been a great experience for her. While the skaters on the team have such a diverse background in skating, some were highly competitive before college, some skated in elementary school, and some just started skating, being able to be part of the student-athletes’ collegiate experience is so exciting for Jacki. “Working with students while giving them the chance to get away from their busy college schedules is incredibly rewarding” - Jacki.
She is grateful for the opportunity she has at Dartmouth and looks forward to what every new season has in store!
