We want to thank each of you for your commitment to the team the past four years. Your competitive drive, leadership, and dedication has shaped the team we have today and made us a stronger unit. Moreover, your endless humor and quirky personalities have enabled us to bond over our shared love for skating and form life-long friendships. Although we wish you could be with us for more training sessions and face masks, we are grateful that you will always be part of the DFSC family and cannot wait to see what exciting adventures may befall you after Dartmouth! We love you and will miss you more than you know!

SENIOR SPOTLIGHTS

EMMA GUO (CO-CAPTAIN)

Hometown: Great Falls, VA

Major: Philosophy major, Economics minor

Events: Junior Champ, High Team, and Pre-Gold dance

“From starting off as a freshman, with my sister as a captain, to becoming a co-captain myself, DFSC has been the most incredible journey. DFSC has given me a home away from home these past four years and I’m forever grateful for every experience and memory I have with it, from exfoliating face masks at competitions, bus games with Joann, side-by-side lutzes with my favorite men of DFSC, team impromptu study sessions on FFB, zoom hangouts (RIP senior spring), and, of course, showing everyone my pure dedication to the team by doing 3 run throughs every practice (sorry Jacki 😜) Miss and love everyone! #skatesparkleseeyounextyear” - Emma

Underclassmen Note: Emma truly embodies the meaning of a great captain, and we couldn’t ask for a better team mom. It is especially reassuring to be led by a captain who cares so deeply for the team and always shows compassion for each member. Moreover, Emma’s unmatched wit can make any situation more fun, and she is not afraid to laugh at herself. She is a source of comfort and laughter for the team, and we are all so grateful to call her our captain and friend!

CHARLOTTE KULLER (CO-CAPTAIN)

Hometown: Camp Hill, PA

Major: QSS major

Events: Intermediate Freestyle, International and Gold Dance, Intermediate Team

“I am so thankful for my four years on DFSC. Among many things, I’m thankful for skating under an incredible coach who I always felt supported by and who helped me improve as a skater more than I could’ve expected, being able to continue performing for my family and having their support at competitions, having amazing teammates (especially my fellow 20s), making best friends, competing on our small but strong mid team (with jammin pants!), and always being able to come back to Thompson and feel at home.” - Charlotte

Underclassmen Note: Although it is difficult to imagine DFSC without Charlotte next year, we are certain that her legacy and impact will carry on for years to come. We are so appreciative to have had a captain who has devoted herself entirely to DFSC and reminds us all of our love for skating. Charlotte pushes each team member to achieve their goals, and she never settles for anything less than her very best. Because of Charlotte, we are a stronger unit, and we intend to continue building on this tenacity through next season.

HONORA VERDONE (CO-CAPTAIN)

Hometown: Jackson Hole, Wyoming

Major: History major, Art History minor

Events: Pre-Juvenile Freestyle, International Dance, Gold Dance, Low/Mid Team

“DFSC has been a defining aspect of my Dartmouth experience. This team has introduced me to so many wonderful people and has given me invaluable friendships. I am so grateful that I was able to continue skating in college and, while it is hard to say goodbye to Dartmouth and this team, I am so excited to cheer on DFSC as an alumna! So much love for the DFSC family 💕 skate sparkle shine!” - Honora

Underclassmen Note: Honora has been an integral part of this team, and she has been the mother figure we all might not even realized we needed. She’s someone you can always count on for a good laugh or supportive advice, both on and off the ice. When she isn’t killing her dances or her program to happy Irish music, she is hitting the slopes or having margs at Molly’s. She‘s been an inspiration, a role model, and an amazing friend... Thank you for making this team feel like home, we love you so so so much!

CLAIRE BURNER (PROGRAMMING CHAIR)

Hometown: Lemont, IL

Major: Studio art major

Events: Intermediate Dance, High Team, Novice Free Dance

“DFSC has been an enormous part of my time at Dartmouth, and I am so grateful for what I have gained from it. Not only did being a part of DFSC allow me to continue the sport that has been part of my life since I was three, but it helped me to find my love for skating again. I am most thankful for the friends and relationships I have made in DFSC. Their support, jokes, and sharing of the DFSC experience has created a space that will forever be a home for me. Even though they forget me during Paper Plate Awards, I still love them.” - Claire

Underclassmen Note: Claire is in her element on the ice, and her love for skating is undeniable. She puts 100% into each performance, whether it be during practice or competition. She is hilarious, endearing, and truly one-of-a-kind. We are eternally grateful to have her around, and of course, for her pictures of Momo. We will miss her so much next year!

CHARLOTTE CHUI

Hometown: Hong-Kong

Major: Economics modified with Computer Science and Psychology, Theater minor

Events: Preliminary Freestyle, Preliminary & Juvenile Dance, Low Team

“Being able to skate with these amazing people throughout my time at Dartmouth helped me find my love of skating again, and for that I could not be more thankful.” - Charlotte

Underclassmen Note: Charlotte encourages all of us to work harder, whether it to be on our choreography, presentation skills, or even school work. As someone who runs all dance on campus and has the maximum number of majors, Charlotte proves that there are no excuses and that we can always do more. She settles for nothing less than perfect while wanting us all to be our best as well. It is sad to say goodbye to someone as supportive and persistent as Charlotte, but we are excited to see the great achievements that await her after Dartmouth!

TIFFANY HE

Hometown: Ann Arbor, MI

Major: Economics major, French minor

Events: Juvenile Freestyle

“I was overjoyed to continue skating in college, and I am so grateful to DFSC for helping me love the sport all over again. I'm forever glad I chose to spend my 4 years at Dartmouth with such a fun, goofy, kind, and hardworking group of people. DFSC is truly a family, and I will never forget the support I felt from both teammates and coaches alike. I can't wait to cheer on the future teams as they carry on the DFSC legacy!” - Tiffany

Underclassmen Note: Tiffany’s welcoming nature encapsulates the core values of DFSC. She goes out of her way to make sure everyone is involved and reaffirms each skater’s sense of belonging on the team. We are a better team for knowing Tiff and will miss her dearly next year!

ZAC MILESTONE

Hometown: Princeton, NJ

Major: Chemistry major

Events: International Dance, Low Team, Pre-Juvenile Freestyle, Senior Free Dance

“I will miss having skating as my break from the stresses of Dartmouth’s academic rigor, working with Jacki on all my new programs, getting food during competition with my teammates (especially the Asian pears), and cramming into people's hotel rooms at night during competitions. But I won’t miss getting told to “check my email” and to “tighten my core” on Low team after popping a single salchow. #dfsc” - Zac

Underclassmen Note: Zac was a great leader and taught us so much about what it is to be a dedicated DFSC skater. He never failed to make us laugh during practice and was always the source of motivation during tough practices. Although at times Zac made our hearts stop when he would throw himself into doubles or would run through the Yankee Polka until he collapses, he truly embodied his love for skating and has shown that there is always more to strive for.

JENNIFER WEST

Hometown: Washington, D.C.

Major: Government & History modified with Geography

Events: Preliminary Freestyle, Intermediate Free Dance, Low Team

“I am so grateful for the time that I’ve spent with DFSC. This team has been such an incredible community, both on and off the ice. My favorite memories with the team were the ones that we made every day, cheering each other on after run throughs and supporting our teammates at all of their events. I’m going to miss this team so much and I can’t wait to come support DFSC as an alum!” - Jennifer

Underclassmen Note: By losing Jenny, DFSC is saying goodbye to a tremendous role model. She is welcoming to all and goes out of her way to offer support to anyone who may need it both on and off ice. Aside from skating, Jenny has several interests, namely her passion for politics. She intends to make the world a better place, and we have no doubt that she will accomplish everything she sets out to. We promise to vote for you in future elections :)

MIA ZHANG-NACKE (APPAREL CHAIR)

Hometown: Lexington, MA

Major: QSS

Events: Senior Freestyle, Junior Dance, High Team

“I will definitely miss the bus rides to and from competition, the team dinners, and cheering on our teammates in the stands the most!” - Mia

Underclassmen Note: Mia always had a funny story to tell, an outfit so cool only she could pull it off, and the insane talent and dedication to be able to get back to senior free skate fighting condition. We can’t describe how much she’s inspired all of us and how much joy she’s brought to this team. There is never a dull moment with Mia, as she selflessly makes a fool out of herself to make us laugh, and she has proven to care so much for this team. We are going to miss her and her energy so much!
