FALL 2019 UPDATE

Our 2019-2020 season is already off to a great start this fall! At the beginning of this term, we welcomed 6 amazing new skaters to our team: Jason ‘23, Sarah ‘23, Charlotte ‘23, David ‘23, Ella ‘23, and Sophia ‘22. It has been so wonderful to be back on Thompson ice with old and new members alike!

Our competition schedule shifted this year due to the split of the Eastern region into two sections--Northeast and Southeast--and we now have two qualifying competitions during fall term. We are very excited about our second place finishes at both of these competitions, the Cornell Challenge Cup and the Violet Ice Classic! Our strong results can be attributed to the hard work of all of our team members who have been training diligently by utilizing training buddy groups and goal-setting, attending weekly power sessions with Jacki, and working on off-ice jumps. We have also had a lot of fun bonding activities this term, including the reintroduction of the “hold the rope” ceremony, a team scavenger hunt, and a beautiful hike up Mt. Cardigan. With only 2 weeks left in this term, we are all getting ready for final exams, setting new training goals, and looking forward to the rest of our season! As always... Go Big Green!
