2021 Fall Update

We are so excited to be back this Fall Term! With almost all DFSC members on campus, members are energetic to practice with each other again. We’re also very excited to welcome eight new members! Five of these eight additions are 25s: Nathaniel Chen, Lauren Kang, Elena Luria, Alannah McShine, and Madeleine Shaw. We are also welcoming two 24s, Jessica Li and Skylar Wiseman, and a graduate student, Sarah Jones.

Welcome to the DFSC family!

Although we have no competitions this term, we are steadily getting back into practicing. This term, we have around fourteen hours of ice time each week, with each skater required to practice at least four hours a week. From working on jumps, perfecting spins, and getting chased after program runs, we’re all excited to finally be back on the ice and get ready for competition season! We have three wonderful captains, Darya Romanova ‘21, June Dong ‘22, and David Kaufmann ‘23, who always motivates us and inspires us to be our best.

As we began nearing the end of the term, we have been doing run throughs of our programs and dances at practices to prepare for competitions that start early in winter term. Coach Jacki has been a tremendous support in choreographing and polishing our programs. We are so excited for our upcoming competition season. Our first competition will be at MIT on February 5-6.

Off the ice, we have many fun team social events. We love the company of our fellow teammates, and have planned events such as apple picking, study dates, and weekly team dinners throughout the term. We can’t wait to be back on campus for the Winter Term and see many of you at competitions!
