2023 Summer/Fall Update

With fall term starting, it’s been wonderful seeing everyone back on campus! We are super excited to welcome new skaters to DFSC, but before we introduce them, let’s first recap what our team has been up to over the summer. From Grace Chen ‘24 taking LA by storm to Anika Mukker and Juliana Jones ‘26 working in their home cities, members were busy doing internships across the country. We also have to shout out Rowan Martey ‘26, who stunned at this year’s National Showcase in Norwood, Massachusetts. The 25s also had a great sophomore summer! Most of them joined summer dance groups, and some trained with the triathlon club. Elena Luria ‘25 even competed at USA Triathlon Nationals at the beginning of August. 

And now for our new members! We are thrilled for 6 new skaters — Caroline Klearman ‘27, Claire Radin ‘27, Emily Xu ‘27, Emma Kimchi ‘27, Claire Schmidt ‘24, and Marin Blaisdell, a PhD student — to join the team. Practices have been filled with so much energy and excitement lately, and we are incredibly lucky to have these talented skaters be a part of our DFSC family! On the ice, everyone has been working hard to prepare for our first competition of the season at NYU. Off the ice, we have been hosting socials like team dinners, farmer’s market trips, and our yearly scavenger hunt. We are looking forward to what this new season has in store!
